Is there any truth to the oft-believed idea that you don't have to wash jeans often? And, how often is often?
This idea or concept is truly a personal preference. We’ve noticed that men are much more inclined to avoid washing, in an effort to prevent fading and protect their “perfect, worn-in” feel. While women are also concerned with color and preserving their investment, laundering becomes imperative to redeem the fit/stretch of the jeans.
If you prefer not to wash your denim regularly, we suggest a quick steam. Steaming will help to freshen denim and coupled with The Laundress Fabric Fresh, will work to eliminate odor causing bacteria. However, with the appropriate knowledge and the right care products washing regularly is ok— and is the preferred method by many!
Ultimately how you wash your denim jeans, jackets, and shirts is up to you, but as with any article of clothing, if you want to get the best and most wear out of your things, it's important to consider what special care is required or recommended.
